Pausing a family member, and when it helps
Pause is the quiet switch in the Family page. It stops new SIMs for one person without deleting anything, and it is the right tool more often than a lower limit.
While someone is paused, PERDIEM will not issue a new SIM for them. Their name, their limit, their countries and their history stay exactly as they were, and you can switch them back on at any time from the same page.
When to use it
When a family member is not travelling this time. Pausing them keeps the list honest and stops anyone getting them a SIM by mistake.
When a phone has been lost. Pause the person until the new phone arrives, so nobody buys a SIM for a handset that is not there.
When you want to talk before the next trip. A pause is easier to lift than a limit is to renegotiate.
What it does not do
Pausing is about new SIMs. A SIM that is already installed on someone's phone is managed on the phone itself: in the phone's mobile settings you can switch that line off, or remove it once the trip is over.
